Jackson State was named the HBCU FCS Team of the week. In the team’s most recent outing, Jackson State defeated Southern 38-13 in the BoomBox Classic, shutting out the Jags in the second half.
It was Jackson State’s seventh consecutive win over its Baton Rouge-based rivals. The Tigers also have been ranked No.1 in Dr. Cavil’s Inside the HBCU Sports Lab top 7 poll rankings for 11 consecutive weeks.
