Jalen Suggs leaves game with leg injury

Magic guard Jalen Suggs has suffered what appears to be a leg injury in their preseason game against the Mavericks .

In the first quarter Suggs went to set a screen on Dorian Finney Smith when he collided with Finney-Smith’s leg and appeared to hyperextend his left leg.

Suggs had to be helped back to the locker room.

This is the latest health mishap to befall Suggs , who was taken fifth overall in the 2021 NBA Draft. He missed 20 games in his rookie campaign with a thumb injury and an ankle injury.

In the 48 games ,including 45 starts, he appeared in his rookie season, Suggs averaged 11.8, 3.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.2 steals per contest but shot the ball horridly, just 36.1 % from the floor and a frigid 21.4% from downtown.

The Magic finished 22-60 last season and Suggs, along with no.1 overall pick Paolo Banchero, Franz Vagner, Markelle Fultz, and Wendell Carter Jr was planned on being part of a young core that was anticipated to help pull the Magic out of the doldrums of the Eastern Conference.

More information on Suggs’ status will be reported as it avails itself.
