Greece big man Kostas Antetokounmpo is still examining the options he has on where he will continue his career and won’t be taking any decision until after the end of the Olympic Qualifiers.
Antetokounmpo, a 2020 NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, has already attracted the interest of Olympiacos Piraeus and Panathinaikos Athens and has been contacted by the two Greek powerhouses that would like to to include him on their roster also because he’s a domestic player. He has also received offers by other EuroLeague and European clubs.
For now, Antetokounmpo is occupied only with helping the Greek national team win the Olympic Qualifying Tournament of Victoria and get the ticket to Tokyo. Afterwards, he will look at his options with the goal of finding a team that will give him the kind of playing time and role he didn’t get during his stint with the Lakers.
Antetokounmpo has averaged 5.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks over 11.5 minutes in the first two games of Greece (a loss to Canada and a win over China) so far in the Qualifiers.
