Earlier today the Boston Celtics announced that point guard Kyrie Irving and center Al Horford will both miss the club’s Saturday road game against the Brooklyn Nets due to injuries; Irving has lower back soreness and Horford left knee soreness.
According to The Athletic’s Jay King, Horford was not sure if he would be playing Saturday against the Nets, as the team is looking to get him rest as the regular season winds down.
The Celtics are still fighting it out with the Indiana Pacers the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference Playoffs, which is the last slot to have home-court advantage in the first round.
Without Irving and Horford, the Celtics will need Jayson Tatum, who was listed as questionable.
