Lakers and Jazz finalizing deal for Patrick Beverley

Patrick Beverley, the guy you want to have on your team, appears to be on the move again. The veteran guard who was part of the haul the Jazz got back in the Rudy Gobert trade, is returning to his old stumping grounds, but to the opposite locker room.

According to reporting from Adrian Wojnarowski the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers are finalizing a deal that would bring Beverley to the purple and gold in exchange for Talen Horton – Tucker and Stanley Johnson.


Last season Beverley averaged 9.2 points ,4.6 assists and 4.1 rebounds and was a key cog in helping the returning the Timberwolves to the postseason.

Talen Horton -Tucker who was been mentioned in trades talks from everyone from Alf to the author of this article , averaged 6.7 points and 3,2 rebounds in 48 minutes, including 27 starts. Stanley Johnson, a former no. 8 overall pick by Detroit in 2015, did not live up to the lofty expectations of his draft status found himself in the developmental league. After multiple 10-day contracts with the Lakers, signed a 2-year/ $3.2 million deal.

The new, and most pressing question for the Lakers is now Beverley and new backcourt mate Russell Westbrook will co-exist. The two have a long documented contentous , at best, relationship , dating back to 2013 when Beverley collided with his knee as he was calling timeout.
