According to Shams Charania, the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets have agreed on a deal in which the Lakers will send D’Angelo Russell , Maxwell Lewis and 3 second round picks in exchage for Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Melton.
Russell, a one-time All-Star had been placed in the unenvionable position as one of the scapegoats for any of the sortcomings of a LeBron James team. In 29 appearances, both a starter and coming off the bench , Russell averaged 12.4 points , 4.7 assists and 2.8 reounds on .415/ .333 /.849 splits.. He returns to Brooklyn, where he enjoyedd his lone All-Star campaign in the 2018-19 season.
Lewis, 6-7 forward out of Pepperdine has appeared in 41 career games and 7 contests this season, averaging 0.6 points , 0.3 rebounds and 0.3 assists in 3.0 minutes per contest.
Finney-Smith can provide the myhical “3 and D” skillset that NBA teams cream their britches over. The 10.4 points per game is the second-highest of his career , while the 6-7 forward is shooting career best 44% from downtown.
Milton can provide defense and playmaking to the Lakers second unit and is averaging 7.4 points and 2.4 assists per contest.
