 The men’s basketball team of Elizabeth City State (6-13, 3-5 CIAA) lost against Lincoln University (PA) (9-10, 5-4 CIAA) in a nail-biting buzzer-beater game with a final score of 65-64. The game was played on Wednesday evening at Manuel Rivero Hall.

Xavier Tubbs-Matthews, who is thriving at the point, put in another great performance for the Vikings. He scored 16 points, provided 2 assists, and created 2 steals.

Reggie Raynor energized the team by crashing the offensive and defensive boards making a total of 9 rebounds. He also scored 10 points before being eliminated due to personal fouls.

Tre Richardson made the biggest shot of the game from a three-point range, which put the Vikings up by one with only four seconds remaining in the game. Richardson finished the night with 16 points, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks, and a steal.

The Vikings will continue their division play against the Bowie State Bulldogs at 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 27.
