This yet-to-be-released Nike Dunk High was birthed in celebration of San Francisco’s Chinatown.
It sports a white leather foundational layer overlaid light bone suede at the toe, eye rows, flanking the ankles and wrapping the heels. Hairysuede Swooshes adorn the lateral and medial sides, with the same material present at the rear pull tab. On the rear heel is a “Gold Mountain” logo, iconography that hearkens back to the moniker ascribed to the West Coast by Chinese immigrants that made their way to the Bay Area in the gold rush era of the 1840s.
Chinese characters stand in for the traditional Nike branding on the tongue and can also be seen on the insoles.
Underneath resides a white midsole and a translucent rubber outsole.
The “Lunar New Year” Nike Dunk High is anticipated to debut sometime over the course of the coming months at nike.com and select retail venues. They will carry a 135 USD sticker price.
