Who Got It Done

Player Spotlight Giannis Antetokounmpo and DeMar DeRozan

DeMar DeRozan and Giannis Antetokounmpo both cam through with big games that both of their teams needed. The Bulls have been in a semi-free fall in the Eastern Conference, potentially flirting with the play-in and needed a win against the Clippers, with Zach LaVine struggling , only shooting 4-15 on the evening, DeRozan picked up the slack, dropping 50 points, including making 2/3 free-throws to send the game to OT and then scoring ten more in the extra frame to help the Bulls get a much-needed 135-130 win.

In a game that had a bit of a playoff feel to it. Giannis showed what an activated playoff mode really looks like ,( as well as who the real MVP of the league might be) scoring 44 points , on 14-21 from the floor and connecting on 15-19 from the charity stripe and grabbing 14 boards in an exciting 120-119 OT win over the Nets of Brooklyn. When it mattered most Giannis came up big including hitting an-off-dribble three to force overtime and then knocking down a pair of go-ahead foul shots with three seconds to go in the extra period. In the contest Giannis passed the great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s franchise scoring record of 14,2111 points.
