Way back in 1985, a young Michael Jordan was playing in a game in Trieste, Italy during a Nike exhibition tour. During the game, MJ rose up for a throw down that shattered the glass of the backboard. The colors of his jersey he wore during that game inspired the shoe that has become known as the “Shattered Backboard”. Following the very well received first two releases of the “Shattered Backboard” Air Jordan 1, Jordan Brand is looking to keep that trend going (or run it into the ground) with another incarnation later this year.
There are no images of the forthcoming sneaker at this juncture but it will make use of a Black , Pale Vanilla and Starfish color palette. It is currently scheduled for an October 4th release at nike.com and select Jordan Brand retail venues. The sticker price is set at $160 USD.
