Howard graduate student Kailei Collins was selected as Women’s Track Athlete of the Week. Norfolk State’s Leslie Young earned Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honors.
Collins (Gr., Houston, Texas) delivered a standout performance at the Windy City Invite, placing fifth in the 60m (7.42) and second in the 200m (23.85). Her 60m time set a new school record for the Bison.
Young (Sr., Portsmouth, Va.) put together a strong performance for the Spartans at D1 Pre-Nationals, securing third place in the shot put (13.43m) and sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 16.58m.
Other Top Performers
- Tia Jackson (MSU) placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 5.79m at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational. She also placed tied for eighth in high jump with a mark of 1.64m.
- Brooklyn Robinson (NSU) secured a first-place finish in the 60m hurdles (8.83), third in the 60m dash (7.63), and a 17th place finish in the long jump (5.04m) at the D1- Pre-Nationals.
- Kennedy Spears (SCSU) finished eleventh in the high jump with a leap of 1.64m, tying her for second in the MEAC in the high jump.
