REGISTRATION FORM

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) will host the Women in Athletics Professional Development Workshop, Empowered by Coca-Cola, on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 12-13, 2022, at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel in Atlanta, Ga. in conjunction with the week of activities leading up to the Celebration Bowl.

This event will be in-person for the first time since 2019; the workshop was virtual last year.

The goal of this workshop is to increase the awareness of opportunities available to women athletic administrators and assist them in their professional development. In addition, this workshop will provide the necessary tools to assist young women interested in becoming athletic administrators.

“The Women in Athletics workshop continues the MEAC’s mission of providing opportunities and positive experiences for women who aspire to have a career in athletic administration, and I’m so appreciative of Coca-Cola for its support,” MEAC Commissioner Sonja Stills said. “The 50th anniversary of Title IX brings the importance of workshops like this into sharper focus, and we’re reminded both of how far we have come and how far there still is to go.”

Norfolk State University president Dr. Javaune Adams-Gaston will be this year’s keynote speaker. Other speakers will be announced at a later date.

“I am so excited that we’re once again hosting the Women in Athletics Workshop in-person,” Alexiss Robinson, the MEAC’s Senior Associate Commissioner for Administration and Compliance/Senior Woman Administrator, said. “This workshop has been a beacon of opportunities for women in athletics administration, both present and future. We want to provide an exciting and transformational experience for our attendees.”

This workshop, heading into its 13th year, is open to students, coaches, athletic staff members, conference office staff or any woman interested in advancing in the field of athletics.

Registration closes Monday, Dec. 5. For more information, contact Robinson at robinsona@themeac.com.
