The ineptitude of Memphis Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace and the front office have largely floated under the NBA radar. A track record of awful personnel moves, bad contracts signed ( see, Parsons, Chandler and Conley, Mike) and more turnover at the head coach position than at the Regions Bank call center makes how this regime has survived this long one of the great unanswered questions of the NBA.
Earlier today, it was reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, that the team added two former General Managers to their front office, hiring Rich Cho, formerly of the Charlotte Hornets, as VP of Basketball Strategy and Glen Grunwald, who used to be the Washington Wizards GM, as Senior Advisor.
Those are apparently the only not the only new faces that will be added, as the Grizzlies are expected to make more additions in their front office over the course of this offseason.
This could also symbolize that ownership may be finally beginning to lose confidence in Chris Wallace and could be setting the stage to have his replacement lined up already.
