Miles athletics has agreed to join the broadcast lineup of Black College Sports Network (BCSN) in a recently-announced deal. This multi-year agreement positions BCSN to broadcast selected events from Miles athletic events in addition to other campus life events.
“I am thrilled to bring this innovative video production partnership to life with BCSN and BC Athletic Network Group (BANG). Partnering with BCSN to create this platform to stream our home games was another innovative way for us to further invest in our hardworking student-athletes and better serve our loyal fans,” said Miles athletic director Fred Watson. “The platform will provide the necessary exposure to help increase our visibility, extend our reach and position our brand and with our sport teams thriving, its a perfect time to have the ability to deliver our games to our fans across the globe.”
The Black College Sports Network is the first online media outlet dedicated to live coverage of Historically Black College and University sporting events on a weekly basis. The BCSN is the flagship product of the Jeriicho Broadcast Networks (JBN).
Roy M. Eavins, II, president and chief executive officer of Jericho Broadcast Networks, believes the partnership will be fruitful for both parties.
“As we look to close out the 2022 calendar year, we are excited to be adding Miles College to our team! We are grateful and honored that AD Watson and Miles College trust us with helping to tell the stories that will spring from this partnership,” Eavins said in a statement.
This endeavor, which began with the broadcast of Miles men’s and women’s basketball games this past weekend. It will not only provide new access to Miles content via Black College Sports Network and HBCU League Pass +, but additional revenue for the athletic department.
“I am always looking to enhance the overall athletic experience and trying to create engaging and entertaining ways to connect our Athletic programs with our fans and this partnership accomplishes both,” Watson said. “This company recognized the value of the Miles College Athletics, their in-game production will offer enough creativity and innovation to potentially create additional revenue opportunities and cultivate corporate sponsorships which helps the department as a whole.”
