Milwaukee Bucks GM John Hart said Thursday that “of course” the team will offer their MVP forward Giannis Antetokounmpo a “supermax” contract extension in 2020 when he will be eligible.
Antetokounmpo is coming off a monster season where put up 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 steals in leading the Bucks to the Eastern Conference Finals and capturing league MVP honors. So it is only natural the Bucks will offer him the supermax the second he is eligible.
Back in 2014 Giannis declared his intention to be a Buck for life:
Though he is not the first superstar to declare their intent to stay with a team, a lot could have changed in the five years since that tweet was sent. How this season plays out could be a deciding factor in where the Greek Freak decides to continue his playing career.
