Monica McNutt has another major award to add to her growing résumé.
The ESPN and MSG Networks basketball analyst has won the New York Sports Emmy for Best Studio Analyst, adding an Emmy to a career that has continued to expand across NBA, WNBA and college basketball coverage.
McNutt’s recognition came Wednesday night at the 4th Annual New York Sports Emmy Awards, held September 23 in New York. The New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences hosted the ceremony celebrating excellence in New York sports television.
For McNutt, the honor represents another significant milestone in a broadcasting career that has made her a familiar voice across basketball.
From the Basketball Court to the Broadcast Desk
McNutt has built a national profile through her work across ESPN’s basketball coverage while also contributing to New York Knicks coverage through MSG Networks.
Her television work has placed her in the middle of some of basketball’s biggest conversations, from the NBA and WNBA to college basketball.
She has also become a prominent voice during a period when women’s basketball has experienced enormous growth in attention and audience interest.
Now, that work has earned recognition from the New York television industry.
An Emmy-Winning Analyst
The award is particularly notable because McNutt was competing in a category filled with established New York sports media personalities.
McNutt had previously been listed among the nominees for Sports Analyst – Studio for her MSG Networks work surrounding the Knicks. The 2025 New York Emmy nominations included McNutt alongside other established analysts from MSG Networks, SNY and YES Network.
A year later, McNutt has the Emmy.
McNutt’s Basketball Voice Continues to Grow
McNutt’s profile has expanded well beyond traditional studio analysis.
She has become a recognizable ESPN personality through appearances and assignments surrounding the NBA and WNBA, while her New York work has connected her directly with one of the country’s most passionate basketball markets.
That combination—national ESPN exposure and a New York-based role—has helped make McNutt one of the more recognizable analysts covering basketball today.
