NBL News : David Barlow re-ups with Melbourne

From nbl.com.au :

Melbourne United have announced that David Barlow is returning for the 2019/20 NBL season.

Barlow has a stellar NBL19, winding back the clock to average his most points (11.7 per game), rebounds (4.5) and assists (2) since the 2008/09 NBL season.

After an injury-ravaged middle portion of his career, Barlow truly found his place in the league once again last season, playing in every United game and shooting 41% from three-point land.

He scored 15 points or more on 10 occasions in the 2018/19 season, highlighted by 24 points against the Cairns Taipans on 13 January.

Barlow was a threat from beyond the arc, in the paint and thrived on making life difficult for opponents – from point guards to centres – on the defensive end of the court.

2018 saw a return to the national team for Barlow also; suiting up for the Boomers in November and doing his part to help Australia qualify for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China.

His remarkable 2018/19 season was recognised when he was nominated for the NBL Most Improved Player Award.

During the NBL off-season, Barlow is suiting up for the Southern Sabres in NBL1 and has played two games thus far with averages of 23 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
