NC A&T’s Elijah Kennedy named CAA Special Teams Player of the Week

For his on-field exploits this weekend, North Carolina A&T wide receiver Elijah Kennedy was named CAA Special Teams Player of the Week. The redshirt junior emphatically put his fingerprints on the Aggies’ 28-24 win over Campbell, returning both a kick and a punt for touchdowns.

Down 21-14 with 6:12 left in the ball game. Kennedy returned a punt 96 yards for a touchdown to knot the game at 21.

The return tied for the longest in program history, equaling Quay Long, who performed the feat against Bethune-Cookman on October 31, 2009.

He then chased that return with an electrifying 85-yard kickoff return that put the Aggies in front 28-24 and proved to be the decisive score in the matchup.

Kennedy is the first player in North Carolina A&T football history to return a kickoff and a punt for a touchdown in the same game.
