Fresh off a historic freshman campaign, North Carolina A&T guard Lewis Shine is on the move.
The Winston-Salem, North Carolina native announced Monday morning that he intends to enter the transfer portal, becoming one of the most intriguing available prospects after a breakout season with the Aggies.
Shine led North Carolina A&T in scoring, averaging 18.9 points per game, and delivered multiple standout performances throughout the year. His season high came on January 24, when he poured in 33 points in an 80–73 win over Towson.
His impact went far beyond single-game performances.
Shine finished the season with 548 total points, setting a new program record for a freshman and shattering the previous mark of 418 set by Joe Binion during the 1980–81 season. He also established new freshman records in:

- Field goals attempted (327)
- Free throws made (187)
- Free throws attempted (217)
- Minutes played (994)
His on-court production earned him widespread recognition across the Colonial Athletic Association and HBCU landscape. Shine was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team and earned Third Team All-CAA honors.
In addition, he received BOXTOROW All-American honors and was named the outlet’s HBCU Rookie of the Year. BOXTOROW also recognized his standout season among the nation’s top HBCU performers.
Further accolades came from HoopsHD, which named Shine First Team All-CAA and CAA Rookie of the Year.
With his combination of scoring ability, durability, and proven production, Shine is expected to draw significant interest in the portal as programs look to add an immediate-impact guard.
