October 10, 2022 MEAC Football Honourees

NORFOLK, Va., Oct. 10, 2022 – Morgan State senior running back Alfonzo Graham and Norfolk State redshirt sophomore wide receiver Da’Quan Felton were named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Football Co-Offensive Players of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference announced today. Norfolk State defensive back Stuart Anderson, Jr. was named Defensive Player of the Week, while the Spartans’ Kevon King was named Rookie of the Week and Morgan State junior Dexter Carr, Jr. earned Offensive Lineman of the Week honors.


Alfonzo Graham (RB, 5-9, 180, Sr., Baltimore, Md.) 

Graham racked up a career-high 203 rushing yards on 23 carries, averaging 8.8 per attempt, in the Bears’ loss to Norfolk State. The MEAC’s leading rusher briefly gave the Bears the lead with a 51-yard touchdown with 1:53 remaining in the game – capping off a stretch of 21 unanswered points for Morgan State. He also caught four passes for 21 yards.



Da’Quan Felton (WR, 6-3, 205, r-So., Portsmouth, Va.) 

Felton caught the game-winning touchdown pass with five seconds remaining against Morgan State – a 3-yard strike to the corner of the end zone from Jaylan Adams. In all, Felton caught a career-high eight passes for 94 yards and that score in helping the Spartans pick up their first win of the season.



Stuart Anderson Jr.(DB, 6-2, 219, Gr., Mathews, Va.) 

Anderson recorded nine tackles (six solo), including a tackle for loss, in the Spartans’ conference victory over Morgan State. He also had one of the game’s key plays, as the Bears’ Graham appeared to be on the verge of scoring before Anderson forced a fumble at the 1-yard line that the Spartans later recovered.



Keveon King (RB, 5-11, 210, Fr., Chesapeake, Va.) 

King rushed for 36 yards and a touchdown on four carries against Morgan State – including a 34-yard score in the first quarter for the first score of the game and his first collegiate touchdown.



Dexter Carr, Jr. (C, 6-3, 295, Jr., Stafford, Va.)

Carr graded out at 94% against the Spartans, recording a pair of pancake blocks and anchoring a Bears offensive line that helped amass 375 yards of total offense, including 259 on the ground. He did not allow a sack or commit a penalty.

Other Top Performers
Erick Hunter (Morgan State) had eight tackles (six solo), half a sack, a forced fumble and a pass breakup against Norfolk State.

BJ Davis (South Carolina State)intercepted a pair of passes and broke up another against Florida A&M.

Shaquan Davis (South Carolina State)caught five passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns against Florida A&M.
