According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski Patrick Patterson has agreed to a buyout from the Oklahoma City and will join the Los Angeles Clippers after clearing waivers.
When Patterson signed a three-year contract with the Thunder back in 2017, it was expected that he would provide sorely needed shooting as their stretch-four but that never materialized, as his minutes and production deteriorated in his two seasons in OKC. This past season he averaged 3.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.5 assists. The 13.7 minutes per game he logged , the 37% FG and the 63% from the free throw line were all career-lows and the 34% from downtown was his lowest connection rate since his 17 game stint with the Sacramento Kings back in 2013-13 where he shot just 23%.
At 29 it stands to reason that he has plenty more basketball left in him and perhaps the change of scenery can help him return to form.
