Raasean Davis connected on 15 of his 16 shots and scored a career-high 34 points and added 11 rebounds as North Carolina Central laid a 47 point smackdown, 91-44, on Wilberforce.
Davis got off to a strong start, scoring NCCU’s first 11 points before Jibri Blount got into the scoring column. Blount would score 22 points of his own along with 6 rebounds.
Davis’ scoring output was the first time an Eagle has topped the 30-point mark since Patrick Cole dropped 32 on Northern Kentucky on November 26, 2016.
Wilberforce (3-12) was lead by Lajune Marshall with 27 points. He was the only Bulldog in double figures and with his 10-19 from the floor, he was the only Wilberforce player to shoot 50% or better. As a team the Bulldogs shot a frigid 26.6% from the floor.
Next up for NC Central is playing host to Bethune-Cookman January 5. The game has a 4:00 p.m. tip-off time. Wilberforce will have to wait more than two weeks to end their 11-game losing streak when they travel to Canton, Ohio to take on Walsh University.
