Purity Kibet (Benedict) was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Female Runner of the Week, while Donald Kibet (Benedict) earned Male Runner of the Week, released by the league office on Wednesday.
Female Runner of the Week – Purity Kibet, Benedict
Purity Kibet led the Lady Tigers by finishing fourth overall with a time of 19:27 over the 5K course. The Benedict College women’s cross country team finished eighth out of 13 teams at the Newberry Invitational on Saturday.
Male Runner of the Week – Donald Kibet, Benedict
Benedict College freshman Donald Kibet dominated the competition at the Newberry Invitational, winning the 8K meet with a blistering time of 24:43.50. The Tigers finished fifth out of 13 men’s teams.
