ORANGEBURG, SC
— South Carolina State head football coach Chennis Berry announces the addition of 13 new Bulldogs during the early signing period.

“Go Dogs! It’s a great day to be a Bulldog. We feel like we got better today with the young men that we signed with these new signees at South Carolina State University,” said Berry. “We are about chasing A’ s B’s Championships and Degrees and we feel these young men fit the profile on what we’re looking for.”

Berry noted, “We signed thirteen (13) young men that are game changers and the amazing part of signing them is that nine (9) of them will come midyear and we get a chance to develop them  so they see how we train, lift weights, attend class so they can get acclimated to get on the field faster.”

“Out of those nine, we had a chance to put our eyes on six (6) of them because they attended our camp this summer,” stated Berry.” “I’m super excited about this class we really got better here as a program at SC State.”

South Carolina State is coming off back-to-back Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships and its second straight Cricket Wireless Celebration Bowl HBCU National Championship under second-year head coach Chennis Berry.

13 Bulldogs earned All-MEAC Postseason honors, while Berry earned MEAC Coach of the Year for the second year in a row leading his team to a perfect 10 league record at the helm.
Roger Smith (OL), Micheal Lunz II(DE) and Jarod Washington (DB) were all recently named to the BOXTOROW HBCU All-American Team.
