A Massachusetts man who was accused of allegedly assaulting and robbing a 14-year-old girl of her sneakers in downtown Attleboro turned himself in to authorities Thursday morning.
On June 23, Nelson Daluz, 25, was accused of aggressively approaching the young victim and forcibly relieving her of her Air Force Ones when she refused to talk to him. According to the police, the two were not known to one another.
Daluz turned himself in after seeing photos in police social media post regarding the event and following a conversation with his sister.
Under questioning, Daluz told police that prior to the incident, he smoked marijuana that made him feel different, leading him to believe it was “laced with something.”
Daluz was charged with unarmed robbery, assault and battery and accosting another person.
Attleboro District Court Judge deemed him a danger and set Daluz’s bail at $10,000 with pre trial conditions, which required him to wear a GPS bracelet and a set curfew, should he post bail. Daluz is to stay away from the victim’s home and is barred from entering Attleboro; the GPS bracelet will be programmed to alert probation officials should Daluz enter the city.
Daluz’s case was continued for a pre trial conference 27 July 2023.
