Early Tuesday morning, an off-duty NYPD officer was beat up and robbed outside a bar.
John Joyce, a housing officer assigned to Public Service Area 7 in the South Bronx, was leaving Mickey’s Tavern at approximately 2:15 in the morning when three men attacked him. The three men pummeled Joyce stole his sneakers and then escaped into the night.
Joyce suffered a fractured eye socket and was taken to Nyack Hospital for treatment.
