For a long time this column has displayed loud and clear the depths that people will sink to for a pair of shoes. Once again the spotlight is on Memphis, Tennessee for all the wrong reasons.
Memphis is a shipping hub for many companies; Federal Express is headquartered in the city and NIke has their distribution center located there as well. With it masses receives and stores of sneakers and other Nike products ,the distribution center is seen to sneaker thieves the same way Fort Knox (when it had gold) is to gold thieves.
Recently, would-be thieves attempted to access the distribution center in broad daylight. They had to be physically rebuffed by employees.
As of the writing of this article, no arrests have been made.
