Stupid Things People Do For Sneakers: Two arrested in sneaker robbery

Police in Prince William County arrested two men in conjunction with a sneaker sale that went awry.

The victim made arrangements through a social media app ( I hope it was not OfferUp) to arrange to sell a pair of sneakers, according to police.

At the meeting, the suspect tried to leave with the sneakers, the victim attempted to prevent this and this action lead to a physical altercation between victim and suspect. The suspect had a friend with him, who police stated, pulled a gun. The suspect and his accomplice got into a car and left the scene.

Police later canvassed the area and subsequently located, identified and arrested the suspect’s friend, Christopher Lee Fouts and charged him with robbery and brandishing. On December 1, 18-year-old William Francisco Madrigal of Manassas Park was arrested and charged with robbery and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
