SWAC Moves Bethune-Cookman vs. Alabama A&M Kickoff to Noon Amid Severe Weather Threat

The Southwestern Athletic Conference has announced another football schedule adjustment as anticipated adverse weather threatens this weekend’s HBCU football slate.

The SWAC announced Friday, October 9, that Saturday’s matchup between Bethune-Cookman and Alabama A&M will now kick off at 12 p.m. CT on Saturday, October 10, instead of its originally scheduled 6 p.m. start.

The game will be streamed live on SWAC TV.

The six-hour adjustment comes as the conference continues to monitor potentially dangerous weather conditions moving through the southern United States. Conference officials said additional schedule changes remain possible as conditions develop.

More HBCU Football Schedule Changes Possible

The Bethune-Cookman–Alabama A&M adjustment is part of a broader effort to account for anticipated adverse weather during Week 6 of the college football season.

The SWAC has already announced other changes involving its football schedule, including moving Florida A&M’s game against Alabama State from Saturday to Friday and adjusting the kickoff time for Southern’s matchup against Prairie View A&M.

The conference said it will continue monitoring weather conditions and announce additional adjustments if necessary.

Fans should check official university athletic department and SWAC channels for the latest updates before traveling to a game.
