The Nike Air VaporMax is the latest step in the journey of Nike Air that began in 1987 with the original Air Max and its groundbreaking visible air unit.  With the VaporMax, no longer does the air unit have to be undergirded by a layer of rubber for the purposes of increased protection and durability.
