Ben McLemore agrees to contract with Rockets

Free agent guard Ben McLemore has agreed to a partially guaranteed two-year deal with Houston Rockets, according to The Athletic and Stadium’s Shams Charania. Since being taken seventh overall by the Sacramento Kings in 2013, the guard has occasional flashes, but has failed to live up to the expectations when he came out of Kansas ( too early). Last season he did not start any of the 19 games he appeared in and averaged a paltry 3.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in just 8.3 minutes per contest.

Rockets are the new face of NBA disfunction

Move over Los Angeles Lakers, there is a new sheriff of disfunctionality in town. I submit to you the present-day Houston Rockets. After a successful 2017-18 that saw them come within one game of a trip to the NBA Finals, expectations were so high heading into this season, as the thought around the team was that they could be the team to dethrone the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors.  It was thought their defense would take a step back, namely because of the loss of wings Trevor Ariza and…

Trouble in Space City, Paul and Harden not on same page

As cliche as the phrase “Houston, we have a problem is”, is it actually quite apropos in this instance. It seems there is a developing schism between two of the Houston Rockets’ most notable players- James Harden and Chris Paul. Sources told Tim MacMahon of ESPN that the issues stem from “differences in preferred playing styles and personality”, which comes as little surprise to me. Chris Paul wants to play more system oriented basketball, which is the complete antithesis of the way James Harden plays basketball. Harden’s playing style is…

NBA Trade Rumours: Heat to inquire about Chris Paul and other Rockets players

Chris Paul is one of the most obvious targets to be moved, along with big man Clint Capela, but considering Paul’s age (34) and the massive amount he has remaining on his contract ( he signed a four-year $160 million deal last July), it seemed Houston might be hard pressed to…
