Tatum gets $195 million maximum extension

From Adam Wells of B/R: After emerging as one of the best players in the NBA last season, Jayson Tatum has reportedly been rewarded with a contract extension from the Boston Celtics.  Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Tatum’s deal will be worth $195 million over five years. Wojnarowski provided more details: Tatum established himself as a go-to superstar for the Celtics in 2019-20. Jayson Tatum out tonight versus Pistons

According to A. Sherrod Blakely of NBC Sports Boston, Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum will not be in action for their game Wednesday night against the Detroit Pistons with tendinitis in his right knee. Blakely adds that Tatum is going to travel with the team with the intention of playing against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. In 38 games this season Tatum is averaging 21.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists.

According to the New York Times’ Marc Stein, the Boston Celtics “refused” to make Jayson Tatum in trade talks with the New Orleans Pelicans.
