Graduate guard Diamond Johnson led Norfolk State with 24 points, seven rebounds, five steals, and three assists. Da’Brya Clark (14) and Ciara Bailey (13) also scored in double-figures in the win. North Carolina Central announces changes to football coaching staff

Jesse Thompson, who was the safeties coach in 2024, has been promoted to defensive coordinator. Thompson is no stranger to being a coordinator at the FCS level; prior to joining the Eagles in 2024, he was the defensive coordinator at Mississippi Valley State. N.C. Tuesday morning it was announced that Norfolk State graduate guard Diamond Johnson has earned a spot on the Women’s College All-Star Game Midseason Watchlist presented by Herbalife.  The watchlist is comprised of players who appear to be on the path to continue to play the game at the professional level. Norfolk State’s Larry Vickers named to the Midseason Midseason Kathy Delaney-Smith Mid-Major Coach of the Year Watchlist

Coach Vickers’ Lady Spartans ball club is currently 17-4, including wins over Missouri and Auburn. The list of accolades for Norfolk State’s Diamond Johnson continues to grow longer. The graduate guard was named the World Exposure Report Player of the Week.  Johnson helped the Lady Spartans to a 2-0 week, recording 24 points, 8 steals, 7 rebounds, and 5 rebounds in their 77-69 win over Morgan State. In Norfolk State’s 124-51 obliteration of Virginia-Lynchburg Johnson scored 16 points, 6 rebounds, assists, and 3 steals in just 26 minutes, her shortest workday on the hardwood this season.  Johnson leads the MEAC in scoring, averaging 18.6 points…
