Norfolk State softball announces schedule changes

Director of Sports Communications The Norfolk State softball team announces changes to its games in the Winthrop Tournament scheduled for Friday and Saturday. Norfolk State will play two games on Friday and two on Saturday in Rock Hill, S.C. at Winthrop University. Friday’s first game begins at 12:30 p.m. against Presbyterian, with a game at 3 p.m. against Winthrop following. On Saturday, Norfolk will play Presbyterian again, but at 10 a.m., before finishing out against Western Carolina at 12:30 p.m.

Jesse Thompson, who was the safeties coach in 2024, has been promoted to defensive coordinator. Tuesday morning it was announced that Norfolk State graduate guard Diamond Johnson has earned a spot on the Women’s College All-Star Game Midseason Watchlist presented by Herbalife.  The watchlist is comprised of players who appear to be on the path to continue to play the game at the professional level.
