Norfolk State softball announces schedule changes

Director of Sports Communications The Norfolk State softball team announces changes to its games in the Winthrop Tournament scheduled for Friday and Saturday. Norfolk State will play two games on Friday and two on Saturday in Rock Hill, S.C. at Winthrop University. Friday’s first game begins at 12:30 p.m. against Presbyterian, with a game at 3 p.m. against Winthrop following. On Saturday, Norfolk will play Presbyterian again, but at 10 a.m., before finishing out against Western Carolina at 12:30 p.m.

image via Norfolk State Athletics Alex Lehmbeck, Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Communication Norfolk State football head coach Michael Vick announced three additions to his coaching staff on Wednesday, officially welcoming Tim Smith, DeCedrick Quinn Sr., and Wilson Appleton to the 2025 coaching lineup. Smith, one of two returners from the Spartans’ previous staff, retains his role as Norfolk State’s wide receivers coach. Junior Brooklyn Robinson picked up a win in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 8.38. She also placed third place in the 60 meters (7.63) and 18th in the long jump (16-6.25). Jesse Thompson, who was the safeties coach in 2024, has been promoted to defensive coordinator. Tuesday morning it was announced that Norfolk State graduate guard Diamond Johnson has earned a spot on the Women’s College All-Star Game Midseason Watchlist presented by Herbalife.  The watchlist is comprised of players who appear to be on the path to continue to play the game at the professional level.
