NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk State kicker Marco Peery has added another honor to his record-setting performance against Hampton. Peery was named a Fred Mitchell Award Kicker of the Week for Week 3 after converting all five of his field-goal attempts in Norfolk State’s 42-21 victory over Hampton in the 61st Battle of the Bay. Norfolk State return specialist Jason Wonodi has added two national honors to an already memorable week. Wonodi was named the Stats Perform FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week and the BOXTOROW HBCU National Player of the Week after delivering a record-setting performance in Norfolk State’s 42-21 victory over Hampton in the 61st Battle of the Bay. The Spartans overwhelmed Winston-Salem State from start to finish Saturday night, cruising to a 56-0 victory in their season opener behind a dominant offensive performance and a suffocating defensive effort.
