Recent and now former Brooklyn Nets forward LaMarcus Aldridge announced Thursday morning that he is retiring from the NBA due to an irregular heartbeat. Aldridge made the shocking announcement via social media, saying “For 15 years, I’ve put basketball first, and now, it’s time to put my health and family first.” The 7x All-Star was signed by the Nets in late March after reaching a buyout agreement with the San Antonio Spurs. From the nba: NEW YORK – The National Basketball Association announced today that in light of the tragic events in the Minneapolis area yesterday, tonight’s game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center has been postponed. The decision to postpone was made by the NBA after consultation with the Timberwolves organization and local and state officials.
