The NBA Finals resumes tonight with Game 3 from Oracle Arena. The talk of the series has shifted to the health, specifically the lack thereof, issue of the Golden State Warriors. Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr announced that Kevin Durant would not play in Game 3 of the NBA Finals as he is still dealing with the strained calf suffered in the Conference semifinals. Kerr did add that Durant would be on the practice facility floor later Tuesday for an individual workout. Warriors get vital ( and costly) 109-104 win in Game 2 of NBA Finals

DeMarcus Cousins will start Game 2 of the NBA Finals in place of Jordan Bell. Cousins made his return to the lineup in Game 1 after being sidelined since the first round against the Clippers with a torn quadriceps muscles. In his 8 minutes of action, Cousins had 3 points and 2 assists but will need to be more impactful to help Golden State even up the Finals.

OG Anunoby listed as active for Game 2

Toronto Raptors forward OG Anunoby will be active for the first time in the playoffs. The forward has been out since the last game of the season on April 12 due to an emergency appendectomy.  His return could add even more teeth to a defense that seemed, at times ,to cause the Warriors some issues. In his 67 appearances over the course of the regular season, the second year small forward averaged 7.0 points, 2.9 rebounds 0.7 rebounds and 0.7 steals in 20.2 minutes per contest.

Sunday Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters that is it possible that Kevin Durant could return after participating in just one practice. When Andre Iguodala came up lame late in game 1, there was serious concern that this was a serious injury. As it was a non-contact incident, the worst was thought. Iguodala finished the game and minimized the severity of the injury saying “I’ll be fine,” after the game, as reported by the Mercury News’ Mark Medina. A subsequent MRI came back clean, as reported by The Athletic’s Anthony Slater. According to The Athletic’s Anthony Slater, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said today that Kevin Durant will not play in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. This will be the 7th game in a row Durant has missed due to a calf strain that apparently was more sever than initially thought. The Toronto Raptors, powered by Pascal Siakam’s 32 points, took Game 1 of the NBA Finals 118-109 over the Golden State Warrriors. Marc Gasol remembered how to score, putting in 20 points and 7 rebounds, while Kawhi Leonard had a subdued game, contributing 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
