Knicks move up to No.23 with trade with Jazz

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the New York Knicks and Utah Jazz have engaged in deal that will move the Knicks up in Wednesday’s NBA Draft. The Knicks are sending their No. 27 and No. 38 picks to the Jazz in exchange for the No. 23 picks. As icing on the cake, Utah is sending over the the draft rights to 2008 second-round pick Ante Tomic, 33, who is not expected to come to the NBA. The Knicks now have the No.8 and No. 23 selections.

Utah Jazz to be sold to tech entrepreneur Ryan Smith

from the AP: SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The majority interest of the Utah Jazz is being sold to technology entrepreneur Ryan Smith, a move that when formally approved by the NBA will end the Miller family’s 35-year run as owners of the franchise. The Jazz said Wednesday that “definitive agreements” have been struck with Smith on the sale of the team, Vivint Arena, the team’s G League affiliate and management of a Triple-A baseball club. Jazz’s Gobert, Mitchell, others health cleared

Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell along with the rest of Utah Jazz players and personnel have been given a clean bill of health by the state’s Health Department, according to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps. Gobert was the first NBA player to test positive for COVID-19 and ridiculously and wrongly draw the ire of players, fans and even some media ( because apparently he purposely contracted the virus as part of some insidious plan to end the NBA season). The Utah Jazz made some changes in their front office, promoting general manager Dennis Lindsey to executive Vice President of Basketball Operations and assistant GM Justin Zanik to GM, according to reporting by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Utah Jazz point guard Ricky Rubio will miss their game Friday night against the Memphis Grizzlies with a hip issue. The team listed Rubio on their injury report as out with left hip tightness. Another side effect of Rubio’s injury is it now leaves the team without a healthy point guard on the roster( an incidence that has now occurred seven times this season), as fellow point guards, Dante Exum and Raul Neto are also out with injuries.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski the Cleveland Cavaliers traded veteran sharpshooter to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Alec Burks and two future second-round picks. Korver had been averaging 6.8 points in 15.7 minutes per contest while shooting 46.3 percent from three-point range.
