The Tennessee State overcame a double-digit halftime deficit to defeat he Lions of Lindenwood, 60-57.

The Tigers stumbled out of the gate in the first half, shooting 7-31( 22.58%) from the field and 2-11 from downtown ( 18.18%) , which mightily aided in the mere 18 points scored and the 14-point hole they found themselves in after the opening 20 minutes of play.

TSU played uphill for the majority of the second half, finally tying the game at 53 on the second of two JR Clay free throws with 3:07 left in the contest. Over that remaining 3:07 the teams would swap the lead with Tennessee State going up for good at 59-57 via a Adong Makuoi lay in with 0:20 to go.

Jr. Clay led two Tigers in double figures with 22 points on 6-18 FG, 1-5 from downtown and 9-10 from the charity stripe. Dedric Boyd kicked in 14 points and 4 rebounds on 6-11 from the floor.

Up next for the Tigers, who moved to 10-7 overall and 2-2 will look to continue their winning ways when they host the Skyhawks of UT Martin Thursday.
