The long-awaited return of the Air Jordan XVII was seen as a case of Jordan Brand listening to the wishes of their customers. However in another one of their missteps, Jordan Brand slapped a $300 sticker price on the lows, which was doubled the $150 price tag of the original. Despite the attempted justifications of some enthusiasts, the addition of the suitcase, a feature that was exclusive to the three high colorways, was not enough to commensurate a doubling in price.
They sport a white leather tumbled leather upper with university blue at the inner boot. Metallic elements can be seen at the eyelets as well as the “JORDA17” and Jumpman stamped heel clip. University blue also makes an appearance at the toe, the Jordan 17 branded tab at the bottom of the lacing system, and the Jumpman branded suede underlay at the rear heel.
Underneath resides a University blue TPU sheath that covers a midsole that should house Zoom Air cushioning and blow-molded Nike Air at the heel.
As it currently stands, the “University Blue” Air Jordan XVII Low is set to release on August 28, 2024. They will carry an astronomical 300 USD sticker price.
