It was announced earlier today that Villanova redshirt sophomore guard Dante DiVincenzo will enter the NBA draft, however he will not hire an agent leaving open a return to school.
DiVincenzo had a breakout season, garnering BIG EAST Sixth Man of the Year and Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four. His 31-point performance on 10-15 shooting helped power the Wildcats to a 79-62 victory over Michigan in NCAA title game.
Donte has consistently improved in his time at Villanova through dedication and a commitment to our core values. His play this season has created a unique opportunity for him to receive feedback from NBA teams in the draft process. We support Donte fully and our staff will work together with him and his family to help him assess the next step in his basketball career. – Villanova Head Basketball Coach Jay Wright
DiVincenzo averaged 13.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game this season.
