The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its softball weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Miyah Rogers (Benedict) was named Player of the Week, while Caprice Johnson (Fort Valley State)earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Miyah Rogers, Benedict| Outfield | R-Junior | Thomson, Ga.
Rogers helped Benedict beat Columbia International 13-12 in first game of doubleheader by going 4-for-4 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs. In second game, Rogers had Benedict’s only hit in 7-0 shutout.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Caprice Johnson, Fort Valley State | Pitcher | Sophomore | Woodstock, Ga.
Johnson pitched the Wildcats to an 11-3 win over Paine College with a full 6.0 innings in the circle. Johnson allowed only one earned run on seven hits with six strikeouts against 29 batters.
