WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Winston-Salem State University men’s basketball team will participate in the Virgin Islands Classic in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands December 13-15. The Rams will take on Albany State University on Friday, December 13th, tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

Series Information
This will be the first all-time meeting between the Rams and Golden Rams.
Rams Returners:
The Rams brought back four returners from last year’s team, sophomores Lance Gill, juniors Stefon McLeod, Jeremy Dixon, and senior Ralph Bland.
Ram Newcomers:
During the off-season, the Rams welcomed 11 newcomers freshman CJ Alston, Khyelle Ingram, Samuel Newkirk, Samuel Hood, redshirt freshman Masuan Moore-Byrant, sophomores Jaiden Thompson, and Wesley Tubbs, juniors Lorenzo Caldwell, Tyre Boykin, Abou Camara, and senior Micah Jones.
CIAA Preseason/Poll
Overall, the Rams were selected to finish fifth in the CIAA preseason poll.
Last Time Out
The Rams defeated Carolina Christian College 97-48 on Monday, December 9th. Tyre Boykin led the Rams with a season-high 22 points, Micah Jones scored 13 points, and Welsey Tubbs III and Lance chipped in with 10 points.
Scouting Report
The Rams are led in scoring by Micah Jones with 15.8 points a game, followed by Wesley Tubb III with 10.6 points.
Albany State University (4-3, 3-2 SIAC)
The Golden Rams defeated Central State University 77-76 on Monday, December 9th. Shakur Poteat leads the Golden Rams in scoring with 15.7 points, followed by Biaise Wallace with 13.1 points. The Golden Rams are averaging 66.4 points a game.
