CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — 
Howard University freshman Shy Odom made his home debut a memorable one, scoring a career-high 18 points to lead the Bison to a 66-54 win over Harvard at the Laviete Pavilion before 1,473.

It marked the first time that the Bison (6-8) have defeated the Crimson in seven games.

Odom, a 6-6 forward from nearby Chestnut Hills, Mass., got Howard going, tallying 15 points in the first 20 minutes that resulted in 30-30 tie at intermission. For the game, the talented freshman, who is coming on strong of late, connected on 8-of-12 from the floor while adding two steals on defense.

Norfolk State 70, North Carolina A&T State 66

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — 
Norfolk State survived a late push from North Carolina A&T on Sunday afternoon at the Boost Mobile HBCU Challenge Hosted by Chris Paul, defeating the Aggies 70-66 at MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Dana Tate, Jr. propelled the Spartans to their third straight victory, hitting six 3-pointers en route to a career-best 24 points. NSU finished the event 2-0 for the weekend, and also secured a 4-0 record against CAA opponents during non-conference play with wins over N.C. A&T, Hampton, William & Mary and Monmouth this season.

Kris Bankston dominated both ends of the floor as well for the Spartans. He finished with 16 points and eight rebounds while shooting 7-of-8 from the field, knocking down a pair of go-ahead free throws in the final minute. The standout performance earned him All-Tournament honors.
