Warriors waive Alfonso McKinnie, Marquese Chriss expected to make final roster

According to The Athletic and Stadium’s Shams Charania, the Golden State Warriors have waived forward Alphonso McKinnie and will retain Marquese Chriss with that created opening. Chriss, who was taken eighth overall in the 2016 NBA draft by the Phoenix Suns , averaged 8.5 points and 4.8 rebounds in his two years with the club. Zion Williams to miss first few weeks of season with knee issue

Yesterday the New Orleans Pelicans announced that rookie sensation Zion Williamson would not play in the team’s preseason finale today against the New York Knicks due knee soreness. It it believed to not be serious but according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Pelicans are erring on the side of caution and Williamson will miss the first few weeks of the season.
