Albany State tennis gets win over Georgia Southwestern

Wednesday the Albany State University women’s tennis team were victorious over the Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern 5-2. In singles competition, Bianca Leao got it done in straight sets (6-4, 6-4).  Sumana Panauganti won (6-1, 6-0), while Allyah Williams and Carla Sorroche were even more dominant in their matches, both winning (6-0, 6-0). Doubles saw the ASU pairings of  Asia Raulerson & Carla Sorroche and Bianca Leao & Sumana Panauganti both winning their respective matches 6-0. Next up for the Albany State women’s tennis team is a trip to Mobile, AL on March 24 for the Conference Round-Up.

Albany State softball sweeps Savannah State

Courtesy Dr. Earnest Brown, Albany State Athletics: The Albany State Golden Rams softball team swept the Savannah State Tigers by winning (7-3) on Monday afternoon at the ASU West Campus.  The Golden Rams improved to 22-3 while the Tigers fell to 3-12 overall. The Golden Rams got on the board in the 2nd inning when Ciweya Tennison was walked with the bases loaded.  Glory Seay scored another run in the 2ndinning when Madison Hurt bunted to the pitcher. The Golden Rams scored anther run in the 5th inning when Morgan Brown singled to center field to score Madison…
