Courtesy of Tennessee State University Athletics BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The Tennessee State women’s basketball team had two players take home yearly awards as the Ohio Valley Conference announced its 2022-23 superlative award winners on Tuesday afternoon. Gia Adams was named to the All-OVC Second Team, while Erica Haynes-Overton earned All-OVC First Team honors. Haynes-Overton was also named to the All-OVC Newcomer Team. Adams, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, showed no signs of a sophomore slump this season after being named the OVC Freshman of the Year a season ago. The Tuskegee women’s hoops team put on display why they were undefeated , 20-0 , in SIAC play this season as they put a 73-50 beating on Central State in the SIAC quarterfinals.
