Lady Golden Rams nip Lane, 60-59 on the road

Courtesy of Dr. Earnest Brown, Albany State Athletics The Albany State Golden Rams won their first game of the season after defeating the Lane College Dragons (60-59) in the J F Lane Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon, in Jackson, Tennessee.  The Golden Rams improved to (1-8) overall and (1-2) in the SIAC.  The Dragons fell to (1-5) overall and (1-2) in the conference.  Elisa Saffold, the Golden Rams leading scorer, finished with 15 points.  Saffold connected on 3/8 three point attempts in the game.  Yasmine Fairchild chipped in with 12 points and 7 rebounds.  A…

Albany State hoops drops first conference game of the season

FAMU crushes Prairie View 35-14 to claim SWAC Championship

Unfazed by multiple weather delays, the Rattlers of Florida A&M were able to effectively control the clock and run the football on the way to claiming their first SWAC Championship with a 35-14 victory over Prarie View.  On just Prairie View’s fifth snap of the contest, a Trazon Connely pass was tipped and then intercepted by Javan Morgan and returned to the FAMU 40.
