Southern dismantled the Golden Lions on Saturday night 59-3 to get back in the winning column on Saturday night inside A. W. Mumford Stadium.
The Jaguars racked up 550 yards of total offense off 70 plays, including 298 through the air and 265 on the ground. The Jags stout defense set the tone early on giving up three yards on the ground to the Golden Lions.
Kendric Rhymes got the Jags fast-pace offense started early with a four-yard touchdown from Besean McCray to give SU a quick 7-0 lead with 11:13 left in the first quarter. Rhymes put up 120 yards of total offense and three touchdowns. McCray finished the night going 14-of-18 passing for 241 yards and four touchdowns connecting with twelve different recievers.
In his first game in Mumford Stadium Jason Dumas set the tone for the Jaguars defense with a tackle for a four-yard loss. Dumas finished with five tackles, 2.5 TTL and 1.5 sacks in a dominant performance. The Jags secondary was all over the field grabbing four interceptions, led by Corione Harris with two tackles and a 62-yard touchdown.

Southern will travel I-10 west to Prairie View, Texas to take on the Panthers of Prairie View A&M. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
