Saturday Grambling was taken to the woodshed 72-10 by LSU, however the outcome was not the most concerining aspect of the evening for the Tigers. Gramblng State linebacker Jaquavis Richmond suffered a frightening injury halfway through the third quarter while making a tackle on LSU wideout Gregory Clayton on a punt return.
It appeared that Richmond collided with teammate Chrisitian Williams as they came together to stop Clayton. For a tense ten minutes, Richmond was attended to by medical personnel before being carted off the field.
Richmond, a native of Shreveport , Louisiana, was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
“So we’re hoping for the very best, and our thoughts and prayers are out to he and his family and certainly the Grambling State family.”
LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly
Sunday Grambling State VP for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Trayveon D. Scott released a statement on Richmond’s status.
