FS1 host slams “tone deaf” LeBron James

“I am at a point in my career I don’t lose sleep over that ‘how did me and Luka’… there’s eight other guys on the floor.”

It seems when to LeBron, reveling in the adulation, it’s a solo act; however accepting blame and accountabilty, it is always an ensemble.

For many years this has been LeBron’s modus operandi, as he has always sought to avoid blame at nearly all costs; its as if he sees personal basketball as a scarlet letter and he refuses to be Hester Pryne.

This act has begun to wear thin, and one of the people who has had his fill of James evading righteous criticism is Craig Craton. The co-host of FS1’s Breakfast Ball weekday morning show laid into the Lakers superstar:

“When you make a big shot, you put the crown on. When you show off the tattoos, it says “Chosen One.” That ain’t about the eight other guys, that’s about you. And with LeBron James, when things are going well, it’s always about him. When things don’t go well, it’s never his fault

Craton compared LeBron Moonwalking out of accountability to that of Jason Tatum, who owned his subpar play.

When you juxtapose what LeBron said there in that podcast to what Jayson Tatum said in a press conference with the established media in Boston, who’s a very tough media and he goes,’ Yeah, I’m well aware I played like crap. I’m well aware I gotta be better. My performance is unacceptable. If I play a little bit better, we’re up 2-0 in this series.’ That’s refreshing, that’s a guy you can root for.”

LeBron has been allowed to get away with it because too few in the mainstream media have offered so little in the way of pushback that it borders on dereliction of duty.

Mainstream aports media needs an injection of more like Craton who are willing call LeBron James out when warranted and less of the unabashed pom pom wavers such as Nick Wright.
